That's right! This edition of Wizard Trivia is going into the WILDERNESS! In celebration of the Summer Season we're taking these nerds outside with questions and challenges inspired by our National Parks, the Great Outdoors, and wacky tales of the weird wilderness everywhere!

If you've never been to The Wizard's Gauntlet at Fae Nectar, come join us for this FREE trivia night where you can expect a mad mage MC, a host of humorous trivia questions, and creative challenges thrown at you during the weirdest, wildest, and BEST trivia night around!

Calling all crafters, costumers, makers, stitchers, dreamers, and garbed wanderers!

Join us at this Friday at Fae Nectar for Garb & Gather, a cozy evening for local creatives and fantasy fans to work on projects, swap garb, browse fantasy wares, and spend time with fellow makers.

Bring your current craft, costume piece, sewing project, sketchbook, chainmail, embroidery, leatherwork, or whatever magical work-in-progress has been calling your name. Guests are also welcome to bring garb, accessories, costume pieces, and fantasy treasures to swap with other attendees.

We’ll also have several vendors on-site offering handmade goods, fantasy wares, and enchanting finds for those looking to shop and support local makers.

Come craft, trade, shop, sip, snack, and gather among kindred spirits at the tavern.

CALLING ALL WARRIORS to Fae Nectar this Sunday!

Join the Mithril Mercenaries at an open practice, sponsored by Sword Carolina, this Sunday, May 24 at 10 AM on the field at Fae Nectar. This 3-hour HEMA class includes 2 hours of instruction followed by 1 hour of social time and Q&A. Beginners are welcome, and NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. Instructor Ashley Hanks is a professional HEMA instructor with more than a decade of experience competing and teaching. Sword Carolina is bringing high-quality Historical European Martial Arts instruction from Greenville, SC to the Lake Lure area.

Cost is $30 per person. Cash on site is preferred, with digital payment options also available.Recommended gear includes a full water bottle, and comfortable clothes for exercise and the current weather. If you have HEMA-approved swords or gear, please bring them, but they are not required.

This class is for adults and motivated, focused older teens ages 13+. Anyone under 18 must have a parent on site for the full class and a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Kids are welcome to watch or play nearby, but may not participate in the class.

Practice will continue in light rain. In the case of torrential downpour or lightning, the group will wait it out and train as conditions allow.

The weekend stirs to life at Fae Nectar, bringing a new Burger special for our local friends, a cozy gathering of makers, a battle of nerdy wits, and a chance to step into the magic of our wedding grounds!

On Thursday, LOCALS NIGHT brings our best meal-deal yet, with a $10 Burger special from our Celtic Kitchen that is sure to fill the tavern with a little extra Lake Lure cheer. And come join us for GARB & GATHER’s Friday Craft Circle, where we invite creators, costumers, stitchers, and friendly folk of all skill levels to work on their current projects, swap garb with other adventurers, and find new treasures from our visiting Vendors.

Then on Saturday, The Wizard’s Gauntlet returns! Join Mungo the Wizard for a night of nerd trivia, ridiculous challenges, and magical nonsense as brave teams compete for glory, bragging rights, and perhaps the wizard’s begrudging approval.
And on Sunday, our Wedding Venue Open House welcomes couples, families, and curious guests to explore Fae Nectar’s enchanting ceremony spaces, tavern, concert hall, and festival lawn as we open the gates to future celebrations.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by today's local flooding, especially our friends and neighbors up in Gerton Gap. We’re hoping for the very best and sending love to all who are navigating the weather and its aftermath.

Thankfully, Fae Nectar is safe and sound, and the roads through Bat Cave are doing very well. We’re incredibly grateful to the DOT for all the amazing work they’ve done to keep our roads cared for and passable.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on things, but we’re glad to report that Fae Nectar is fine. Thank you all for checking in and caring about this little corner of the mountains.
