I used to think changing the world meant doing something big and bold. But most of the real transformation started quietly, within me. When I slowed down enough to notice, I saw that I was rushing through life, saying yes to everything, and leaving my own needs last. That way of living wasn’t sustainable, and it wasn’t the leader or person I wanted to be....

There’s something cats know that we humans often forget:Rest isn’t lazy. It’s necessary. A cat doesn’t ask permission to nap in the sun.He doesn’t apologize for curling up in a quiet corner. He stretches, yawns, and simply is. Today, let’s take a page out of his playbook.Find a spot of stillness. Let your shoulders drop.Give yourself permission to pause—not because you’ve “earned it,” but because your mind, body, and spirit deserve it....

Here’s the truth: every strong chapter of my life started with a mess I didn’t see coming. I’ve stumbled. I’ve second-guessed myself. I’ve made choices I wish I could redo. But every single misstep carved out space for wisdom I wouldn’t trade for perfection. Being “fierce” isn’t about being untouchable. It’s about showing up with the bruises, the lessons, and the courage to keep moving forward anyway....

Finding My Voice, Living My Purpose: My Second Season Story

For a long time, I stayed quiet in spaces where I should have spoken up, especially in moments when I doubted whether I belonged. I had built a successful career, but somewhere in the process, I stopped trusting myself. I delivered results, supported teams, and kept everything running, yet internally, I often questioned whether my voice truly mattered.

That all changed when I decided to go back to school. It had been 26 years since I had been in a classroom. Signing up for college again at this stage of life was one of the most daunting steps I have ever taken. I was surrounded by people half my age, and the systems and platforms had undergone dramatic changes. Remember, there were no cell phones or the internet when I was in school last; I’m showing my age here. I felt uncertain and vulnerable, but with each assignment I completed, I felt a sense of renewal within me. I was learning again, not just academically, but personally. My confidence gradually returned, and my voice felt rooted in something deeper. I even discovered a passion for writing.

During the same season and month, I was offered a position that perfectly aligned with my long-held aspirations. It wasn’t just about the responsibilities or the schedule; it was about the profound sense of purpose it brought. This new role focused on serving those most in need, and working in healthcare for the underserved reignited my passion for meaningful, mission-driven work. I no longer felt compelled to separate my values from my profession; I had found a space where my skills, heart, and purpose could all coexist harmoniously.

Embracing that job required me to believe in my worthiness of work that resonated with my values. It also meant letting go of roles that had outgrown me. I had to stop chasing titles that appeared impressive on paper and instead pursue positions that felt deeply fulfilling in my spirit. It was no longer enough to be capable; I yearned for connection to the work, the people, and the mission. Discovering that kind of alignment was not only gratifying, but also therapeutic.

Finding my voice has been a gradual process, marked by a series of small choices. It began with the courage to speak when I had previously remained silent. It involved returning to school instead of doubting my abilities. And it culminated in walking away from comfort and embracing something more meaningful. These decisions, though not always easy, have been profoundly rewarding. They have taught me that the clarity of my voice deepens with consistent use, and its strength grows with unwavering trust.

Today, I lead with greater authenticity than ever before. I no longer feel compelled to overcompensate or prove myself. Instead, I prioritize clarity, deep listening, and standing up for what truly matters. My second act has reminded me that leadership is not merely about holding power; it is about aligning oneself with one’s values, purpose, and voice.

If you find yourself in a place where you feel unheard, uncertain, or stuck, I want to remind you that your voice is still present. It may be faint at the moment, but it is not lost. It awaits your permission to speak once again. Trust that it retains its power and will guide you to your true purpose. Stay tuned, and thank you for leading anew, right alongside me.

Here’s what they don’t tell you about leading well: It’s not about having all the answers. It’s about standing in the questions long enough to find the truth that matters. Real leadership means making decisions that won’t please everyone, holding boundaries that might be misunderstood, and owning mistakes without letting them own you. It’s staying anchored when others drift, choosing courage over comfort, and speaking hard truths even when your voice shakes....

Some weeks, my mind feels like a messy desk. Stacks of “what-ifs,” a few forgotten “should-haves,” and that one “why-did-I-say-that” sticky note that just won’t let go. But here’s what I’ve learned: We don’t need to clear the whole desk to find peace. Sometimes, it’s enough to pick up one thought, set it gently aside, and breathe. Midweek is the perfect time to pause—not because everything’s calm (it rarely is)—but because stopping for a moment reminds us that we’re still steering the ship....
