🧼 TIPS & TRICKS: Dishwasher Not Draining? 🧼

Before calling for a repair, here are a few quick things you can check yourself:

1️⃣ Check the Air Gap (if you have one)
That little cap on the back of your sink isn’t just decoration! Pop it off and check for food or gunk. A quick clean can get things draining again.

2️⃣ Clean the Filter (Most Dishwashers)
Most dishwashers have a round or square filter at the bottom. Twist and lift it out, rinse it under hot water, and remove any debris. If yours doesn’t have a removable filter, just wipe out the area where water collects.

3️⃣ Run a Quick Rinse
After cleaning, run a rinse cycle to see if the water clears.

Sometimes, that’s all it takes!

Critters Don’t Pay Rent — But They Sure Move In

Wow… what a moment. Y'all I'm all teary eyed.

Will's wife here and I have news to share!

Will’s Appliance Repair was just named Best of Lake Mills- Best Homegrown Business of 2025, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you to the person who nominated us and to everyone who took the time to vote. This truly means the world to us

I can’t stop thinking about how it all started. Back in early 2017, the man who had been repairing appliances in our town retired. I put out a simple Facebook post asking if the community still needed someone to fill that gap and the response was incredible. The comments just poured in.

I went to Will and said, “You’d be great at this.” He had already spent more than a decade fixing appliances, doing apartment maintenance, and figuring out how to solve problems no one else could. So, he said let's go for it! We started an LLC and took off running… well, kind of. It was more like fumbling, tripping, figuring things out as we went, getting back up, and trying again. But this community never left our side.

You were patient when parts were impossible to get during COVID. You understood when we had to rearrange schedules for family emergencies, vacations, and sickness. You stayed with us through every growing pain, every learning curve, and every late-night “how do we make this better?” conversation.

Eight years later we are still here and stronger than ever because of you. Your kindness, your word-of-mouth referrals, and your trust are what built this business. Every time we see Will’s Appliance Repair recommended, our hearts soar. It means the world to know how much this community appreciates what we do.

And if you’ve ever seen someone sitting in the vehicle while Will works, that’s me, Ashley, or “Moral” as one of our customers nicknamed me. I love to ride along on Saturdays or my days off, usually with a book in hand or occasionally helping Will clean out a dryer vent. Mostly, I’m just there to cheer him on while he does what he does best (and truthfully, it’s also a little bit of quiet time away from the kids, but let’s keep that between us).

📢 Update on Scheduling & Service Availability

Will’s recovery has been much tougher than expected. And when we say tough, we mean it.

This is a guy with a very high pain tolerance. I’ve seen him cut himself and need stitches, saw part of a finger off, and even have an unfortunate “screw-through-the-hand by wife” incident without batting an eye. None of that compared to how rough this recovery has been.

It’s not like him at all, and honestly it’s been concerning at times. We’ve even had one ER visit just to get the bleeding under control.

His follow-up appointment is scheduled for Tuesday, but it’s looking like his timeline may be pushed out at least another week.

We know this impacts scheduling and service availability, and we are so grateful for the understanding and patience you’ve shown during this time. The priority right now is Will’s healing so he can get back to doing the work he loves and providing the dependable service you count on.
