Found this guy the other day. This is why we must be careful where pesticides are applied. Even insecticide from the store can kill something special like this.

This time of year a beast of a insect emerges, the cicada killer . A large wasp measuring 1 to 2 inches in length. Its presence can be confirmed by the large mounds of soil next to quarter sized holes in the ground. This wasp hunts cicadas , drags them underground and lays eggs on them . call me at 845.603.6098 if you are being plagued by these monster wasps.

This is a honey bee swarm, please don't spray them with anything, or try to kill them. They are just taking a break . Honey bees are docile unless provoked so give them space and they will move on.
