Water is vital at all times - even if you sit at a desk all day. Dehydration ranges from mild to severe, so anyone can easily become dehydrated in some regard. Just 1% of dehydration is enough to decrease productivity by 12%! (From a study done in the National Library of Medicine.) Alongside reduced productivity, dehydration can cause: headaches, fatigue, slower problem-solving, and delayed reaction times. Although the amount of water needed in a day may vary by different factors, the general benchmark for all is 15 ½ cups (3.7 liters). If you are feeling thirsty, it may be a sign your body is starting to get dehydrated - so drink up! Water is vital to you and your health! It’s often ingrained into us to focus on work for hours on end; and while that is important, it is also just as vital to take breaks from time to time. For one, small breaks can actually increase your productivity and focus. It does this by reducing mental fatigue and allowing you to reengage with more clarity. Another plus to microbreaks is increased problem solving, creativity, and physical health benefits. When taking a moment, it becomes easier to look at things fresh, think about new ideas, and stretch out/relax muscles from long periods of sitting/standing. Finally, little breaks can ease your mood and prevent burnout by allowing you to disconnect, balancing work-life, and even getting socialization in for some. Overall, breaks are crucial to long term happiness and reducing stress at work. In a huge study done by Sprout Social, every social media outlet has a different best time of when to post. While this isn’t exact, the best times to post on social media overall are Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 12 pm - 6 pm. Additionally, even if you do not post at those exact times, it seems Tuesdays & Wednesdays are the best days in general as many of us are in that mid-week grind and are more focused on work. On the contrary, the worst days to post seem to be the weekend and even more so on Sundays specifically. Many are trying to disconnect from everything and are more focused presently on family, friends, time off, etc. Although this study has shown an encompassing view of when to post, most social media contains analytics and will often tell you when people are most active on your pages! All of this to say that you don’t always have to post more, you may just have to post at the right time! (You can check out this study in depth here: https://sproutsocial.com/insights/best-times-to-post-on-social-media/) For a free consultation to see how we can help you, contact us by clicking the link in our bio! https://www.consulttak.com/

The words you tell yourself may be even more impactful than you realize. Self-affirmations are positive sentences you tell yourself to improve self-worth. For example, if you are having a hard time with people-pleasing and are feeling guilty about it, a good self-affirmation could be “I am allowed to take up space and express my needs.” This reminds your brain it's okay and builds up confidence to get to where you need to be. One study done by the University of Pennsylvania showed that repeating self-affirmations produces physical changes in your brain that result in a more positive view of yourself and increased positive behavior. In two separate other studies, people were asked to write down self-affirmations and then after doing so, were handed material related to health - one in exercising and one in eating right. Both were found to have done more exercising/eating right after these self-affirmations were done than those who didn’t write any. Self-affirmations aren’t meant to be challenging or anything that makes you feel worse that you could already be feeling. Pick something that, no matter how small, is a reminder that you are worth it and will/are do/doing well. After all, this is all to help you!
