Flowers don’t just go through the four seasons. They also go through “sub-seasons” of pruning, during which petals of former glory expire to make way for new growth and future splendor. Others are cut off from their life source and begin the slow process of decay, maintaining their showy clusters just long enough to bring enjoyment to celebrants of matrimony and birth or comfort to mourners of illness and death. During each of these seasons, beauty can be found.
Yes, there’s happiness in new beginnings and sadness in loss, but through it all…God is there. For He is sovereign both in life and in death. He is the alpha and omega. The beginning and the end. And, in Him we can find beauty in every season because in Him is the essence of eternal beauty, glory unending and unimaginable splendor.
“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” Romans 1:20
