My pastor once told me, "An invitation is good, but an invitation back is an honor."
A few months ago, I had the privilege of sharing my business story at the Catholic Charities Conference in Orlando, Florida for Airbnb. This week, I was deeply honored to receive another invitation from Airbnb—this time to New Orleans, Louisiana—to serve as a speaker and panelist at Airbnb's Stronger Together Seminar, a disaster preparedness event focused on supporting communities during hurricane season.
The room was peppered with city officials, elected leaders, stakeholders, human service agencies/nonprofit and local hosts who came together to discuss one important question:
How can we BETTER CARE for people in times of crisis?
As we discussed the social needs facing our communities and the role hosts can play in opening their hearts and homes during emergencies, I couldn't help but reflect on the journey that brought me here.
Long before I ever knew what a "short-term rental" was, I opened my doors in 2017 to help first responders during a hurricane. I didn't start with the goal of making money. I started with a desire to serve people (with ) in a time of need.
That simple act of Christain hospitality became my introduction to Airbnb & STR…and what is now a thriving STR business where I get to utilize my
Today, I realize that G-d was preparing me long before I knew it. The same Spirit that led me to establish my charitable organization- (I Believe In Miracles), serving individuals experiencing homelessness and hardship with dignity and compassion, is the same Spirit that drives my work in STR hospitality
Providing housing is not just a business to me.
It is a calling!!!
I often say “People OVER Profit…Purposecover Position!”Whether through my nonprofit work, my short-term rental properties, or the stages I have the privilege of speaking from, my mission remains the same: to serve people, provide HOMES & safe spaces, and help others experience , , and .
I truly believe I am living in a moment that G-d has already written.
Thank you to Airbnb, the host community, every guest who has stayed in one of my properties, and every person who has supported this journey. Your trust has allowed me to grow a business rooted in service and a platform centered on impact.
As I continue to share my story across the country, I remain committed to helping people understand the power of —not just as an industry, but as a ministry.
I am in the business of hospitality.
I am in the business of serving people.
I am in the business of providing homes while housing others with dignity.
And for that privilege, I am forever grateful.
