Dear Residential Shakopee Alley Collection Customers,

Just a friendly reminder that collection of your trash, recycling and yard waste will resume in the alley this Monday, April 20th, 2026.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT) has lifted the annual spring road restrictions. As a result, our trucks are once again permitted to access alleys.

Effective Monday, April 20th, 2026. Trash, recycling, and yard waste will be collected from the alley. Please remember to place your carts back in their usual alley location on your regular scheduled collection day.

RE: Spring Road Restrictions

Dear Shakopee Alley Collection Resident,

Starting March 6th, 2026.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT) has imposed the annual spring road restrictions due to the warmer weather. This will impact your service as our trucks cannot enter any alley during the road restrictions. All trash and recycling carts will be serviced at the front of your house until the road restrictions are lifted. We will send another notice once the restrictions have been lifted so your collection can resume in the alley. Ending dates for spring road restrictions are variable and is based on how the spring weather is affecting roadway strength.

Happy Valentine's Day! Most Valentine’s Day candy boxes are made from paperboard or cardboard, both of which are recyclable in most of our service areas. To ensure materials are processed properly, please remove any non‑recyclable components, such as plastic trays, wrappers, ribbons, or metallic coatings before placing the box into your recycling cart. Clean, dry cardboard helps maintain the quality of the recycling stream and supports the creation of new, reusable materials.

By recycling your Valentine’s Day packaging, you help reduce waste, conserve resources, and support Waste Connections’ ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship. Small actions like these add up across our communities, helping create a cleaner, more sustainable future for everyone.

Due to icy road conditions, some stops may not be serviced today as safety remains our top priority. Drivers will attempt to return later in their routes if conditions improve and will collect carts when it is safe to do so. If we missed your stop today, we will be taking a double load next week on your scheduled pickup day. Please place any extra bags beside your cart next week. Thank you for your understanding and patience!

Monday December 29th, 2025
All routes are operational today, however, all routes were started 1 hour late. Roadways and hilly areas with extensive ice and snow that have not been treated with salt/sand will be serviced once it is safe to do so. Enclosures with dumpsters that have not been shoveled or plowed will be serviced once snow and ice have been removed. Access roads and sidewalks to service doors also need to be treated with salt/sand for our driver to service. Thank you for your patience and watch your step as it is icy out there.

🎄 Holiday Schedule Notice:
In observance of Christmas, our office will be closing early on December 24th and closed on December 25th. Residential services will be delayed by one day starting Thursday. Normal Thursday pickups will be serviced on Friday, and normal Friday pickups will be serviced on Saturday.
• Thursday pickups → Friday
• Friday pickups → Saturday
Please have your cart(s) out by 6:30 AM or the night before to ensure collection. Missed pickups will not be guaranteed to be rescheduled during the holiday week.
