Disabled people face significantly higher barriers to accessing sexual and reproductive healthcare than their non-disabled peers.
The barriers to sexual healthcare range from the lack of robust sexual education for disabled students to a lack of words relating to sexual health in the body on communication devices.
Everybody deserves access to sexual healthcare!

With respect and dignity!

I am often asked how I talk to the disabled teens and adults I work with. It’s simple, with respect and dignity while always presuming competence.
I might: simplify my vocabulary, use shorter sentences, and pause between sentences to allow for processing time
I will not: use baby talk, talk about them - not with them
