I haven’t carved a Hooded Merganser in a long time, and this one was carved for a year now. I finally got around to finishing it up a while ago, and just now got around to getting some pictures of it. A simple gunning style decoy made with cork and basswood and painted in acrylics.

The second and third grouse I’ve mounted. They were beautiful birds! I was grateful for the opportunity to work on them! Sad to see this piece leave the shop the other day.
