The California Highway Patrol honors and remembers Officer Eric Voss, ID 22513, of the Altadena Area.

Officer Voss passed away this morning as a result of injuries sustained in an off-duty motorcycle crash that occurred yesterday morning. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries while surrounded by family.

Officer Voss, a member of CTC ll-19, was a respected colleague and a valued member of the CHP family. His dedication to public service, professionalism, and commitment to others left a lasting impact on those who served alongside him.

The California Highway Patrol extends its sincere condolences to Officer Voss's family, his fiancé, friends, and fellow officers during this difficult time.

We Remember and Honor CHP Officer Andy Ornelas, End of Watch EOW December 2, 2020, Motorcycle Accident

On November 23, 2020, at approximately 7:05 p.m., CHP Motorcycle Officer Andy Ornelas responded to help parties involved in a traffic collision on State Route 14 in Palmdale. While en route to the crash scene, another motorist, failing to see Officer Ornelas’s motorcycle approaching him from behind, made a U-turn in his path. Officer Ornelas struck this vehicle, throwing him from his motorcycle.

Officer Ornelas sustained multiple injuries, and paramedics transported him to Antelope Valley Hospital. There, he received constant care, but he succumbed to his injuries on December 2.

Officer Andy Ornelas, 27, served with the CHP for four years. His parents, Art and Kellie, survived him.
