We gave our friends at John Gordon Construction in Cornwall, ON a wee logo AND lobby upgrade, floating a new hand-painted, layered pvc sign (with prismatic lettering) off their lobby’s concrete block wall on pins we set into drilled holes in the concrete…and they loved it!!

Winter may have us in her icy grip, but this wee gem is off to her warmer forever home in Mount Solon, Virginia this week to join the Jones family ranch!
The family’s ‘J’ cattle brand is recreated with sandblasted pvc to look like wrought iron, floating over the hand-painted pictorial of a photo of the ranch and cattle supplied by the family - taking up the entire breadth of the western red cedar panel.
We sandblasted the sky above the mountains back a bit to get some extra depth and it looks incredible in person! Noella NAILED the pictorial - and it’s not easy to paint tiny cattle!! (The hardest Part is catching them!)😉

Pic 5: Stairway Holsteins - a refurbishment of a 22 year old sandblasted redwood sign of ours with a new sunset pictorial for the Van der Burgs of Glengarry.
Pic 6: a striking little 20x30” sandblasted western red cedar sign for Nicole Valade in St. Andrews, ON. Nicole asked for maple leaves and dog paw prints - we gave her maple leaves and dog paw prints!

As a 16 year old in 1987, I lucked into an amazing summer job with a new company opening an acrylic bathtub company in Summerstown, ON. I got to see (and help) the whole place get set up and into production of vacuum-formed acrylic shells sprayed with fibreglass, and I learned SO much during my time there.
I spent 3 summers there, working incredibly hard; sweating my butt off for owner, Stuart Campbell, who treated his employees with respect and class.
Today I got to install a sign I made for their new lobby - and the entire complex is about 5 times the size it was 28 years ago. Longevity Acrylics is a wonderful success story, and it was a pretty cool ‘full circle’ day for me being there in this new capacity.
Hand-painted, layered pvc lettering, with routed insets, and a little sandblasting detail on the hand-painted teal logo pieces - because I wanted to add a little ‘zing’ for them!

One of Santa’s fleet we refurbished last year (‘Vixen’, if we’re not mistaken) got dropped accidentally while coming out of storage for this year’s parade and needed a little TLC from GG, and but ASAP!!
Following a short, but highly invasive procedure, she paced back and forth inside the garage bay waiting to be picked up by Cornwall City staff this afternoon.
Be sure to go and see her and her fellow flyers this Saturday, Nov. 15th on Second St. In Cornwall, ON in the Santa Claus Parade!!

This beauty is en route today to Phelpston, ON to grace the nest….er, FARM… of Rachel & Dave Kapteyn. The paint colours we utilized stem from a photo Rachel sent us of a sunrise on their property, which Noella wonderfully recreated in the sign’s pictorial.
We can’t wait to see photos of this one installed!!

And now for something completely different…
Noella and I installed a striking, 2-sided ACM (aluminum composite material) sign onto existing posts for the Riverside Motel near Morrisburg, ON. We layered hand-painted pvc pieces on both faces to make a robust but lightweight sign, pulling colours from the newly-renovated motel exterior and it looks fantastic from the road!
