In Memoriam: Daniel T. Peters
The Fire Apparatus Manufacturers’ Association (FAMA) honors the life and contributions of Dan Peters, a respected industry leader and dedicated advocate for the fire apparatus community.
Through his leadership roles at Akron Brass, Pierce and E‑ONE (Rev Fire), Dan was an active and valued member of FAMA, supporting its longstanding mission to advance safety, innovation, and collaboration across the fire service industry.
Dan served as FAMA President in 2003, where he emphasized strengthening member engagement, mentorship, and open collaboration among manufacturers. He believed the industry’s greatest progress came from shared knowledge and candid discussion, whether in formal technical meetings or informal conversations among peers.
A strong supporter of FAMA’s Technical Committee and industry standards efforts, Dan helped promote alignment around safety, interoperability, and continuous improvement. He was equally passionate about developing future leaders and ensuring the next generation remained engaged in the work of the association.
Recognized by his peers with FAMA’s Star Achiever Award, Dan leaves a lasting legacy of leadership, collaboration, and commitment to the fire service.
