A Summer at Groathouse | Lance Larvie

"I'm in the University of Wyoming's Construction Management Program on pace to graduate May 2026. After graduation I am looking to work full-time for a general contractor with aspirations of becoming a project manager in the future.

I've taken on an internship with Groathouse Construction because I wanted to get some real experience in the industry that the classroom just does not offer. This internship has also been great for building a network of people in the industry that I can always reach out to - both other interns/new hires and superiors with a lot of valuable knowledge and experience. UW's program has provided a foundation for me, and Groathouse's program has allowed me to apply those skills and build off them to become closer to my goal of being successful in the construction industry.

I would highly recommend Groathouse Construction's internship program to anyone looking to get their foot in the door in the Industry. Their program allows you to be a part of all the aspects of the construction process from the bottom to the top, which is essential knowledge if you want to succeed in this career. I also have gained a lot of respect for the company culture here as Groathouse has taken great care of me during my time as an intern. For students, getting out of the classroom and on to a jobsite is the best thing you can do for your career, and Groathouse Construction's internship program provides you with an excellent opportunity to do so."
