I’ve been holding onto this giant Spruce log for over five years for the right project, and a local contractor had a perfect application in mind when asked to cover up this stone fireplace mantle and hearth.

This log was salvaged from the City of Riverton in 2021 when it snapped and needed removal. Since then it’s dried and aged yet hasn’t rotted.

After a few initial cuts on the sawmill the contractor cut the mantle piece from the log, which we then resawed again. Many hours of staining, finishing and filling checks and cracks with epoxy followed. The result is stunning!

You don’t always have the perfect materials, vision, or people involved in a project, but when you do, the outcome can be incredible!

Just before July 4th we were able to wrap up a very unique and rewarding project.

Using logs harvested from their property, we worked with a local landowner to add a shed to their shooting range. After designing it together, site prep, improving access to the range, and milling lots of materials, it came together quite quickly.

This project is truly special, using what we harvested from just up the mountain to create a lasting structure for lifelong memories to be made under!
