About 3,500 unintentional, non-boating-related drownings occur each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. One in 5 people who die from drowning are 14 years old or younger.

Nonfatal drowning injuries can lead to hospitalization and, in some cases, long-term disability which is why every child should learn water safety skills that could save their life in case of an emergency.

Drowning IS preventable!
