Friedland Industries, Inc. will be closed Friday, May 29th to allow our staff to attend funeral services for our longtime General Manager, Rob Lather.

Rob was a dedicated employee for over 45 years. He was a Jack of all trades and a master of many here at Friedland. From trucking and dispatch to equipment repairs and advice. If there was a problem, Rob had a solution. His vast wealth of knowledge and quiet strength and presence will be greatly missed by many.

Our new shredding area opens today! We have parking spaces along the Southern side of our facility, down the short drive between us and Lansing Ice and Fuel.

Today is Document Destruction Day from 8:00-2:00 rain or shine!

Document Destruction Day supporting Mid-Michigan Recovery Services Inc. is this Saturday, April 18th, from 8:00-2:00!!

The drop off location is the same as previous years, located at the overhead door just South of our truck scale at our facility off Center St. (the address is 314 E. Maple St. Lansing, MI 48906). Please pull up to the door and our staff will be out to assist you. Do not pull into the building!

We are also excited to announce our new confidential shredding area will be opened on Wednesday, April 22nd, for drop off customers. We will provide more information and signage to the new area after Document Destruction Day!

Friedland will be hosting Document Destruction Day on Saturday, April 18th, from 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Like previous years, we are asking for a minimum $5.00 donation to support our charity partner for this event. This donation grants you unlimited shredding for the day, and helps support a great cause. Please continue to watch our website and socials for more information to follow. We can't wait to see you there!

I stopped by Friedland Industries, Inc. today and met with their team. The company is undergoing substantial growth. A summer tour of their site is being planned for our members. Friedland Industries, Inc.

Attention document destruction customers:

Friedland is excited to announce that we are installing a new secured area with both a larger shredder and baler system, to keep up with our growing demand for confidential document destruction. This new system will be located at a different area within our facility, which will help with both parking and traffic flow to our truck scale. We will have more details to follow and new signage coming soon.

In the interim, we are still providing document destruction services at our other shredder located within the interior of our facility. Due to high fork truck traffic and safety concerns, we will not be able to allow our drop off customers to witness their document destruction take place. All other protocals remain the same, including gauranteed same day shredding every Wednesday with Certificates of Destruction. We ask that you please wait for your paperwork near our old document destruction area, and do not walk in past the sliding gate.

Happy (almost) New Year from all of us at Friedland! We wish you all happiness, prosperity, and lots of scrap in 2026!

A friendly reminder to our customers that we will be CLOSED both tomorrow Dec. 31st AND Thursday, Jan. 1 for the holiday. We will reopen for regular hours on Friday, Jan 2nd.
