This past Thursday I had the honor and privilege to receive the "Purpose" award at the annual HRUnite! awards ceremony. I really can't express how grateful I am to have been nominated and considered amongst so many amazing HR professionals who are leading and influencing in a major way!

Thank you Tina-Marie Wohlfield, founder of HRUnite! , for creating this opportunity for those of us who often times are moving forward with our heads down and focused on the work while doing our best to make a positive impact and support others.

If you missed the 2024 conference, you want to make sure you don't miss the next one! This year's conference was engaging, insightful, thought-provoking and encouraging.

I received so many great gems from some of the HR industrie's top professionals! Thank you to each presenter, your knowledge, experience and genuine motivation made each presentation note worthy! Deborah Young (Authentic Leadership), Jan Harrington-Davis(A.I. In Recruitment), Dr. Iris Ware(Future Proofing Your HR Career), Dr. David N. Turner(Unstoppable HR Practices That Drive Forward Momentum). Excellent Presentations!!!

Oh, what a and time we had at on Thursday evening!!

What a privilege to be amongst some of the most dynamic, influential and passionate leaders and HR professionals! The platform was fast and furious and my nerves were shaky and excited. The presentation style is not for the weak(20 slides, 5 minutes, automatic advance every 15 seconds), but the crowd feedback, encouraging words from many of the presenters and my personal prayer time gave me the fuel I needed to kick into gear. I hope I shared something that even a few attendees felt was helpful and encouraging.

I was so motivated by every presenter and thoroughly enjoyed seeing some of my HR favorites rock the stage. Jennifer DuPont, PHR, CCP , Janelle D. Thomas , Erika Monaé Lewis, Marcus Staten Sr. and Terry Bean.

I had the most amazingly and Thursday morning!

I was invited to be a guest of Sandy Harvey, MBA, CDP , owner of Exodus Consulting Group, LLC and sponsor/moderator of Corp! Magazine's "Salute To Diversity" awards breakfast. The panelist provided such rich and thought-provoking insight and I loved every minute of it. I left with so many great gems. One that I loved came from Susan Morgan Bailey, MS, SPHR, SHRM-SCP who shared her response to leaders who ask, "What if we train our people and they leave? Susan's response?...." What if we don't train them and they stay?🤯 And Lee Meadows, PhD , introducing the concept of "re-boarding" our employees who return to the office...brilliant! Extremely grateful for the insight of Harry Weaver III, NDCCDP, CDE and Darlene King-Turner, CDP and an amazing keynote presentation from Ovell Barbee, SPHR and award presentation lead by Roop Raj of Fox 2 News.

I had the privilege of sharing a table with some of my favs, Erika Monaé Lewis, owner of The Erika Monaé Group - EMG, Katie Taylor and Paul Talbot !

Congratulations to all of the winners that are deeply involved in promoting inclusiveness, justice and equity in thier organizations and communities! A special congrats to my HR community friend, Baxter E. Hall on winning the Diversity Business Leader award.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Thank you Erika Monaé for helping so many of us shine our light! I had an amazing time sharing my journey and being inspired by the unique and incredible journey of Sandra Ware !
The Erika Monaé Group - EMG created a safe space to share, network, laugh and be encouraged. Erika also encouraged us all to "network towards our desired net worth"!! I enjoyed every moment and I am looking forward to future sessions.
