For no real reason other than Derek Dalling found himself in Baraga today for propane fire training, KDA is recognizing today as Jason Wadaga Day. For those wondering why we don’t celebrate Jason Wadaga Day on his birthday, Jason’s birthday is December 25th.

Also for those that don’t know, Jason was raised in Baraga which sits on the beautiful Keweenaw Bay and is home to Pettibone Lifts and Wadaga Road. Wadaga Road is home to The Drive-In and a state maximum security penitentiary - which seems fitting.

You can find the Wadaga jersey proudly on display at the 906 Bar in Marquette.

This is also the obligatory time to note Baraga is way better than L’Anse and the 906 Bar does not have a L’Anse jersey.

Today we bid farewell to our longtime cleaning crew. After 7 years of cleaning the KDA firehouse, they are hanging up their mops and putting away their vacuums for the final time to pursue their respective studies at university. They started before they were even teenagers. We thank them and wish them well in their studies.
