Processing mold inserts can get tricky, for this one it’s an aluminum insert with cooling baffles. Some size and depth on this one is the challenge
Check out the roughed insert with backside complete, we will then flip and finish 3D machining and fit to the tool!

Its not always the inserts that steal the spotlight, sometimes it’s the mold base itself!

Quest utilizes large horizontal machining centers to process all our customers mold bases in house.

With part in die draw, it posed some reach challenges for our machinists.
Our programmers overcame this, resulting in the 3D finish you see here.
