Before Charles became a client of MDM Career Consulting he tried for 6 months and 9 interviews to get a job as a IT Technician.
Every potential employee would only offer to pay him $15 to $16.50 per hour and would say things like...
"Sorry, but your over qualified for this position"
..or they would tell him
"We like you but we decided to go with someone else that is a better fit for what we are looking for in our company."
..or they would just not call him back and send him a email stating something like
"Thank you for your time but we have decided to continue with our hiring process and keep looking for more job candidates"
Well, he decided to hire MDM Career Consulting and after 5 hours of 1 on 1 training and 3 hours of hot seat training we learned how to use our proprietary "Altitude Career Negotiation Strategies."
He was able to position himself with a USP (Unique Selling Proposition) in the interview by finding out exactly what their options were and what they specifically needed at the time so he could position himself as the obvious choice in the hiring process.
Also, he learned how to get Altitude in the career negotiation process so he could flip the script on the recruiter and run the interview so he could decide if he wanted to work for them or not on is terms.
Now recruiters were saying things like...
"We want to hire you but we can only pay you $16 per hour as that's the going rate for the Fargo ND Area."
..and he Charles would now say something like
"Well, i appreciate the offer but i just had a interview with a manager at a bank down the street and his offer was a little better, If you can come up with something that makes more sense SPECIFICALLY for me and my value without considering what you pay everyone else in Fargo. Contact me and ill get back to you after i am done interviewing this week at a few other places"
(this was practiced for his specific situation in our training at MDM)
Then another manager said...
"He you definitely know how to negotiate. The most we normally pay for the Fargo area is $16 starting and $17 with a raise but how about we start you at $17 and in 5 months give you increase to $21 per hour."
Now Charles is able start his career as a IT Technician within 1 month of working with us. Also he will make an extra $4 per hour which will make him a extra $7,680 in 1 year without having to work more hours per week.
We are going to continue to work together because Charles has higher ambitions to become a IT Specialist and we have a plan in place that we will work over the next year to get him to $25 per hour towards the top of the pay scale for his career.
