If necessary that you will be able to communicate with any medical personnel 🚑should your children end up in a hospital while traveling for the summer or at school. It is also very important to do it before they leave for college!!!! Without a Medical POA you can’t call the hospital & find out how your child is doing unless your child is capable of relaying the information & giving the Dr’s permission via HIPAA. Yes schools provide an emergency contact but that only is for the school. Should your adult child be hospitalized while in school because of HIPAA they will not give any information to parents unless they have a Medical Power of Attorney.
