The comb is built downward from nothing but their own architecture.

Bees layered on the outside like living siding, holding the whole structure together through wind, rain, and the Vegas heat that would ruin most things left outdoors.

Constructed with no blueprints or foreman. Thousands of individual decisions adding up to something that looks master engineered, because it is.

We've relocated hives like this dozens of times. The homeowner is always unable to decide if it's beautiful or terrifying. Correct answer: both.

Come by and learn about Vegas Bees.

The bees had built their home into the base of the fountain, tucked up underneath where the water runs, probably since February. Seven months is enough time for a colony to stop being a guest and start being a fixture.

The comb had grown long and heavy, dripping honey down onto the soil below by the time we got there, which is either a sign of a thriving hive or a sign we should have gotten the call sooner. Both, probably.

Texas Sage just hit full bloom here in Las Vegas, and the honeybees noticed before we did. This is what a single blooming shrub looks like when every hive in the neighborhood decides it's the best restaurant in town.

We get calls about "swarms" this time of year that turn out to be exactly this: bees doing their job on a plant that's finally putting out.

"Humane bee relocation" often means someone sprayed the hive, called it a day, and left the comb to rot in your wall. Here's how to spot a fake bee rescue before you hire one.

Fake Bee Rescues By Las Vegas ExterminatorsWe get a version of the same phone call a few times a month. Someone found bees in their wall, roof, or valve box. They called a company that promised "humane bee removal," a truck showed up, someone in a suit sprayed something into the void, and the homeow...

Bees and date palms in Vegas have a whole working relationship going on.

Male palms dump out millions of pollen grains, female palms need it to fruit, and the bees just happen to be running the delivery service in between.

It's not why farmers grow dates, but it's a nice bit of teamwork nobody asked the bees to sign up for.

Why Bees Love Date Palm Pollen and How It Benefits Them.If you’ve ever spotted bees foraging on a date palm tree, you may be curious about what’s going on. Bees play a critical role in the pollination of many crops, including date palms. While date palms are well known for their delicious fruit,...

Remember, if it's one or two bees taking turns at the edge, your dog can probably still drink. If the water bowl is covered, move it. This isn't a standoff you need your dog to win. Give them water somewhere else while you sort out the bees, and don't feel like you're choosing between your dog's hydration and the bee colony's water supply. You can solve both easily.

Bees in your dog’s water bowl are there because they need water, especially during the hot Las Vegas summer. Like everything on our planet, they need water too.Honey bees collect water and carry it back to the colony, where it can be used to help cool the hive and support other colony needs. When ...

Are Bees Gathering Around Your Outdoor Irrigation? Here’s What’s Going On.

If you step outside and see bees hovering around your sprinkler heads or crawling along drip lines, it definitely can feel strange and worrisome.

We get these calls all the time in Las Vegas, especially in peak summer.

The reality is simple. The bees desperately need water.

Why This Matters for Bee Removal

This is where experience really matters, because a hidden hive is about removing bees and addressing everything they've built behind the surface.

If the comb and honey are left behind, bees often return to the same location, pests move in quickly, and structural damage continues to develop.

That means we need to locate the entire colony, not just the entrance, performing a proper cut-out when necessary, removing the comb, brood, and honey, and then sealing the entry points to prevent future re-entry.

Anything less is a temporary fix, the insect equivalent of asking politely and hoping for the best.

In our line of work, we see something homeowners rarely expect. People call us thinking they've just developed a bee problem, but when we open things up, the truth is almost always the same: that colony didn't just arrive last week. Homeowners are shocked to find out that It's been there, quietly bu...
