Hello December! We are just 31 days away from 2024! Can you believe how time has flown by this year? As we reflect back on this year; our growth, our challenges, our perseverance, we have much to be grateful for!

Today we celebrate . Native American Heritage Day was established to honor and recognize Native Americans as the First People of this Nation and to celebrate both their cultural heritage and integral importance to our past, our present, and our future.

Native tribes have contributed vast amounts of culture and knowledge that impacts the lives of modern-day Americans. Did you know that sunglasses, mouthwash, syringes, rubber, anesthetics/topical pain relievers and much more were invented by Native Americans? Spreading awareness of these accomplishments can help improve the lives of Indigenous people in this country today.

To celebrate and honor the day, learn more about Indigenous culture by reading books by Native American authors, visiting a Native American museum or listening to podcasts by Native Americans that detail their rich history - in their own words.

Happy ! Today is a great day to spend playing with your children, your nieces and nephews, your grandchildren or other children that you know. Take them to the beach, a playground, a movie, or any other outing of their choosing.

You can also celebrate the day by donating to support organizations that work with underprivileged children here in the US and abroad. These organizations ensure that children have access to education, basic health care, food, water and a safe home.
