SITUATIONAL AWARENESS is the act of staying aware of your surroundings. The very first thing that we need to do is to stay alert to our surroundings. So what are some of the things that you can do to try to stay alert?

The first thing is avoid distractions. So what are some distractions? The most common distraction and one that we really have a hard time dealing with is our phones. It is difficult to unplug from the phone.

What I tell people is make sure that when you're going to check your phone, that it is safe to do so. If you're out in public, where are you? If you're on a city street, can you move to a place that's going to be a little bit safer for yourself? Number one, we don't want to walk into oncoming traffic, which has happened. Number two, we want to make sure that we put ourselves in a position that is tactically sound. I don't want to take my eyes off of what's happening around me in order to focus on something close like a phone.

Once we can avoid distractions such as our phones or potentially other distractions that could cause me to look one way where I should be focused in another way, so once we get past the distractions, the next thing that we want to talk about is what am I really looking for? T

It is with a heavy heart that we report the loss of 13 brave members of our armed forces in Afghanistan due to a cowardly terrorist attack that also killed several unarmed civilians including women and children. This same act of terrorism wounded up to 18 more US Service members and we condemn this horrific act to the highest degree.

No words can express our sorrow for such a tremendous loss of our heroes and the innocent. Also, equally I find no words appropriate to express our frustration and anger at the cowards that perpetrated this ungodly attack.

We ask that all members please remember the families of these brave Americans who sacrificed so much while defending the very essence of humanity against the thugs and bullies of the world.

Pray and think of them all please

To cover, or to conceal
That is the question! But the answer is slightly more complicated. In basic terms, it sounds quite easy to differentiate. Cover is anything that effectively stops bullets. Concealment is anything that hides you from someone else's sight. Pretty simple right?...Wrong!
The most important thing you have to always remember: Cover is the one that's going to save you when things take a turn for the worse.
