This event is something I never dreamed in my lifetime we would have to endure. This life's ministry is not something anyone would choose...it chooses us. Certainly not an easy one...but certainly worth the feedback and testimonies from those whose lives have been touched by Mikey's, Chrissy's and Richard deaths. Not only deaths but to endure a murder trial...is hands down traumatic.

On Thursday, March 14th at 6:30PM, the Nevada Coalition Against the Death Penalty, alongside Cynthia Portaro, will host a screening of the episode “Sin City Murders”,”Hip Hop Homicide”, a detailed documentary series examining homicides in Clark County. The screening will be followed by a question and answer session with Cynthia. Cynthia’s son, Michael, will be the focus of the episode being screened. She will share her experience with the death penalty system in Nevada, how she has come to support an end to the death penalty, and insights as a Grief and Trauma Coach.

This event will provide an opportunity for community members to learn more about Cynthia Portaro’s remarkable case, the death penalty in Nevada and engage in dialogue about pressing issues impacting our state. Cynthia will be available for a book signing as well before and after the screening. Space is limited, so please RSVP here.

Update on the Documentary! The release date on NBC’s Oxygen has been changed to March 3rd, 8pm. Series is called Sin City Crime.

Having nothing to do with the selection of this date was not short of a God Wink…it’s Richard’s birthday. Makes me cry knowing he’s always and forever by my side…as he was in our 33 short years together. Kisses and Hugs to Mikey & Chrissy. Forever missing you all!

Another milestone in the journey our family has walked through these past WOAH…”13” years next month. I asked the producer how it was editing these hours of endless video tapings, he simply got choked up and responded “very emotional.”

Praying for changes to come out of this in those who need healing and breakthroughs in their own personal trauma.

People experiencing great tragedies, ask me…“Will my grief ever go away?” The short answer is no. But, as I have learned you will begin to heal over time, which will make your grief more bearable. Grief takes a lot of work…and a lot of very painful emotions. “Some things you are processing will lessen as we learn to cope with such great loss.” “If anyone tells you time heals all wounds"…justifiably are those who do not understand the emptiness of losing those we love so dearly and suddenly…especially our children. This statement is just BS!!! I have had three new families to this suck club of child loss and it's extremely difficult to tell parents...you will never get over the loss of your child, you will walk through what you will neve get over...our only hope in seeing them again is in eternity.

I am pretty proud of this. Being chosen along side 99 of the other's selected...one being our Mayor Carolyn Goodman. Thank you to my long time friend Mark Schaffer for honoring my journey. Now that the book release has been accomplished...I am ready to get back to my design work 2021.
