Isaiah Hartenstein UNDER 9.5 Points
Tonight’s free player prop comes from Madison Square Garden as the Knicks host the Pacers. New York has been on an absolute tear, winning 8-straight games and moving up to the 3-seed in the East. They find themselves as 3.5-point favorites against Indiana. Knicks center Isaiah Hartenstein has prop lines of O/U 9.5 points, O/U 9.5 rebounds, and O/U 2.5 assists. We see a good fade spot here for his point production. Hartenstein has slowly grown his minutes-share this season because of injuries to Mitchell Robinson and Julius Randle. However, he’s just really not a big offensive threat. He averages 6.8 PPG on the year and only gets up about 4 shot attempts per game. He’s gone under 9.5 points in 8 of his last 11 games and we see no reason that changes tonight. Indiana plays at a fast pace but this usually equates to a lot of guard scoring with minimal center involvement. The Pacers have a great rim protector in Myles Turner who ranks in the top 10 in the NBA for blocks/game, averaging 1.9 BPG. Hartenstein is known for his defense, rebounding, and hustle play. In his sole game against the Pacers this year he played substantial minutes (33) but only managed to score 2 points. He doesn’t have flexibility to stretch the defense much outside the paint so Turner and company can camp out. Look for Hartenstein to play a large role in the screen game, but this shouldn’t amount to prolific scoring output.
