Props to for being the first to send proof that any of the Kiral Reduced Angle Backstraps for Gen 4/5 (including our new 2 oz heavyweight all-metal variant) will fit the Ace handset with only minor modifications.

If you haven't heard, our backstrap makes a G***k point very similarly to a 1911. For those that find the extra wrist rotation and strain annoying to aim a G***k, this can solve that problem and make for faster and more natural sight acquisition. It has been approved by dozens of federal, state, and municipal law enforcement agencies here in the States (and don't forget Metro Vancouver in Canada), including that one high profile agency we are no longer allowed to mention. 🤣

Big hat tip to Adam for nudging USPSA leadership to get the ball rolling on changing the rules regarding aftermarket backstraps in carry optics and production divisions. As the article mentions, OEM backstraps with beavertail extensions or that otherwise add material (like those provided with pistols made by G***k and HK) are fully allowed in those divisions, but all aftermarket options are disallowed. There does not seem to be a valid reason for keeping an aftermarket parts ban in place. As per the last sentence in the article, we hope to share good news about aftermarket backstraps from companies like ours becoming allowed in USPSA production and carry optics divisions soon.
