A local Las Vegas hotel, after conducting a comprehensive review of the property’s mechanical systems, they found out that two of their three existing Raypak domestic hot water boilers were nearing failure.
The project presented several significant logistical and operational challenges. First, the property is located directly across from an airport and within an active flight path. To facilitate rooftop crane operations, we coordinated with a specialty crane contractor that developed FAA flight-line plans for approval through the Department of Aviation. Second, the domestic hot water system is essential to daily hotel operations, because the boilers provide hot water for guest showers, sinks, and facility operations, we had to carefully coordinate equipment staging, demolition, and installation activities to minimize disruptions.
The installation team worked diligently to complete all mechanical, electrical, venting, and control system connections for the first two boilers. To ensure continuous hot water service to hotel guests, we operated on rotating daytime and overnight shifts throughout the project. Once the first two boilers were fully operational, the third existing boiler was decommissioned, dismantled, and removed from the rooftop by hand for transport and disposal. The final Raypak boiler was then staged, installed, piped, wired, and commissioned. The project concluded successfully following the final state inspection and acceptance, establishing a future contract for CWF and supplying this local hotel with a reliable system.
