ACTUS is celebrating 5 years in business! We would like to take a moment to let our clients, friends, and industry partners know how much we appreciate everything you do. The relationships we have built over the years have only become stronger and enriched our lives.

2020 was a very challenging year. We want to send our thoughts to all of those who have suffered through this pandemic. We have watched our community lose loved ones, lose their jobs, take their children out of school, and struggle to make their way. We have also seen people realize the importance of families and friends. We have seen incredible acts of human kindness and compassion in our communities. We have discovered who the real heroes are among us and realized the importance of our first responders and military!

We hope that 2021 is a more prosperous, healthy, and safer year for all of you. We are committed to building our community back, strengthening our relationships, and providing the best service to our clients.

ACTUS has an immediate opportunity for a Civil Engineering Senior Designer to join our Land Development team in our Las Vegas Office. The candidate will assist the Project Manager with managing the technical staff, and general engineering design of residential, commercial, retail and/or industrial projects. Responsibilities will include:

· Assist Project Manager with obtaining jurisdictional approvals

· Requesting and receiving record drawings from the governing agencies

· QA/QC of technical staffs work product before submitting to the Project Manager

· Prepare justification letters/memos for approval of design documents

· Maintaining and organizing CAD files to ensure consistency with company standards

· Responsible for creating and updating schedules in MS Project to assist Project Manager with completing projects on schedule and budget

Required Skills

· Minimum 8 years of experience with civil design in land development

· Good relationships with the governing agencies

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Ability to work independently and on a team of designers, surveyors, and engineers

· Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Project

· Highly Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D

· Excellent time management with an ability to multi-task

· Strong sense of urgency to meet client deadlines

· Familiarity with Clark County, City of Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas, and Henderson design standards and processes regarding flood control

Preferred characteristics and skills:

· Associates Degree or equivalent experience

· Excellent relationships with the governing agencies

· Strong self-initiative, to work independently

· Good leadership skills

ACTUS has an immediate opportunity for a Land Surveying Mapper to join our Land Development team in our Las Vegas Office. ACTUS has a large backlog of residential subdivision plats, commercial subdivision maps, ALTA's, and boundary/topographic surveys The candidate should be well versed in creating maps in 2018 AutoCAD 3d and will assist the Professional Land Surveyor with general Survey duties for residential, commercial, retail and/or industrial projects. Responsibilities will include:

· Assist the Professional Land Surveyor with preparing ALTA surveys, Subdivision Plats, Parcel Maps, Boundary Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Improvement Location Certificates, Legal Descriptions, Exhibits, and other surveying related items.

· Coordinate with surveying and engineering staff.

· Plot/Interpret legal descriptions, survey maps, and construction drawings.

· Capable of performing QA/QC checks on work performed by self and others.

· Maintaining and organizing CAD files to ensure consistency with company standards

Required Skills

· High School diploma/GED diploma required.

· Training Certifications (CST, MOT, first aid…etc.), Associate's or Bachelor's degree in surveying and mapping/geomatics, GIS, engineering, or related fields a plus.

· 4 years’ experience working as a surveying draftsperson preferred.

· 4 years’ experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D software preferred.

· 4 years’ experience using Trimble Business Center preferred.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office/Word, Excel and Outlook.

· Excellent relationships with the governing agencies

· Strong self-initiative, to work independently

To our clients and business partners:

At 6PM March 17th, 2020, due to the COVID-19 situation, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak ordered the statewide shutdown of all casinos and other nonessential businesses in Nevada starting noon Wednesday, March 18, 2020.

At this time engineering, survey, and construction services are determined to be essential industries to our society, and pending any further developments, we intend to keep our operation open for business and available to our clients until external factors, beyond our control, prevent that from happening.

We are encouraging our staff to observe the safe practices as recommended on the www.cdc.gov website, work from home when possible, and maintain as much social distance as possible between co-workers and clients. We also have employees working from home, to reduce our in office staff, for additional safety measures.

We want our clients and business partners to know that we are here for you, and will continue to provide the highest level of quality service for you.

We are monitoring the various agencies regarding permits and review policies. We are also working with our contacts at the various associations (i.e. SNHBA, NAIOP, NCA, etc.) to coordinate with the agencies.

We had a great time for a great cause volunteering with Three Square Food Bank on 1/28/2020!
We helped prepare hundreds of produce bags for the Three Square Senior Hunger Program, which provides food-insecure older adults (60+) with healthy, supplemental groceries including fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
