This morning from 3-5 AM we will be applying some security updates to a few access points. Some users could experience a very brief pause while the updates are being applied. We chose this window at this time because it is when our traffic patterns are lowest. If after 5AM anyone is having an issue please text our support team at 505-454-8454.

UPDATE: MISSION SUCCESS!. Many thanks to Eric Alarid, network engineer and co-owner. Performance tests are showing improvement in both capacity and latency!

*UPGRADE ALERT*

WHERE: Tower behind the state hospital.
WHEN: 3:45AM - 4:45AM Friday Morning
WHO: Approximately 18% of network could be briefly affected
WHAT: In response to the power outages and fiber alert this week, we will be installing a robust industrial fiber switch to replace the current fiber switch. This is not only a reliability upgrade, but a performance upgrade. We expect minimal downtime for users off this tower during the maintenance window while the swap occurs, but we have placed a 1 hr window for staging and testing.

The last of the sectors has been installed at the El Crestone Rebuild! We are now running all services of the new tower. There was a brief roll over while we did this.

We have a new routing path and performed a number of significant optimizations that we believe should be helping everyone on the network. Our test results in latency and reliability are currently the best they have ever been. ANNOUNCEMENT!

UPDATE: new hardware is in place! We will be fine tuning programming and settings today. This stages several upgrades in service coming over the next 5 days. If anyone has any issues reach out to our techs by texting 505-454-8454. This is exciting! Stay tuned for more announcements.

This Thursday morning (Jan 22) from 3 AM to 6 AM, we will be doing numerous datacenter upgrades in preparation of our new and improved services for 2026.

Among them: installation and configuration of state of the art 100G switches and routers, activating more features for high availability redundancy on our fabric switched network, adding data aggregation and network protection scrubbing that adds greater network security and firmware updates on all network CPEs.

While these upgrades are occuring some users will experience brief pauses in service.

After the upgrades we should see an improvement in latency, capacity, and redundancy throughout the day as we train and optimize the new equipment

FRIENDS!

We are pleased to announce we have completed a new repeater with cutting edge technology in Sapello that will not only provide 4 new access points in that area, but will function as a multigig, redundant backhaul that will more than double capacity to the North, including Mora, Rociada and surrounding areas. The backhaul to Mora is scheduled for completion mid next month. Thank you for continuing to support your local internet team, like you have been doing for 23 years, making it possible for us to continue to invest in our community with new and developing technologies.
