Front Load Washer - Cleaning tip:

Cleaning right after a completed load so that there is water and easier to clean. Before cleaning move the washer about 2 feet from the wall. Tip the washer back towards the wall. Remove the front filter if accessible. Clean and reinstall. This method prevents having to remove the water to check the filter.

Ratio of 1:1 for baking soda to vinegar.

I recommend putting non diluted vinegar (DO NOT DILUTE VINEGAR) into a spray bottle. Put 2-3 cups of baking soda into the empty drum Spinning the drum with the baking soda to help evenly distribute the baking soda. Spray the vinegar throughout the drum as you’re spinning it.

Make sure the 3/4 drain ports on the drum boot or silicone are free from lint and hair. Spray the vinegar all around the silicone boot and glass door. Let sit for 30 minutes before scrubbing to soften calcium and mineral deposits. Scrubbing the boot with cup brush or toothbrush where you see signs of mildew and dirt.

Remove the soap dispenser and remove the covers and clean inside the cavity with a cup brush or toilet brush. Then put 1 cup of baking soda 1/3 cup at a time and chase with vinegar. Remember using 1:1 ratio for baking soda and vinegar.

Let it sit over the weekend or 2-3 days. Run the hottest wash to help clean. No need to wash empty. Washing clothes with vinegar doesn’t make clothes smell like vinegar. Vinegar is a great substitute for clothes softener. It doesn’t cost as much and free of chemicals.

Daily tip: Always leave the door open at least 8-10 inches and the detergent dispenser tray pulled out at least half way.

Is your front load washer smelly?

Do the baking soda and vinegar prior to opening the basket below, to eliminate the horrible smell.

Directions:

Spray vinegar inside the drum and between the drums and boot. Use cleaner with bleach if mold and mildew is present.

Remove the soap dispenser (clean soap dispenser and area)

Add one cup of baking soda and slowly pour one cup of vinegar. (Pouring too fast it will spill out and get everywhere)

Let that sit for 2-3 days. The longer the better

Run your next load on the hottest setting

Note. Always run the spin cycle at medium or slower to prevent the banging. This could also prevent the washer from damage due to an unbalanced load.

I also provide a cleaning service for washer and dryer internal and vent duct cleaning. Please contact me for details. Thanks

Checking and cleaning your dryer vents annually can keep your dryer running longer. This simple exercise is often forgotten, ignored, or avoided. Cleaning vents helps keep your dryer running efficiently. It reduces any potential for a fire hazard. Dryer vents accumulate highly flammable lint, and failure to clean out lint is the leading cause of dryer fires. According to the National Fire Protection Agency, over 15,000 dryer fires occurred in the U.S. in 2010. A plugged dryer vent can also burn out the heating element.
