šŸŽ‰ Happy GOLDEN birthday to my Eazy-E! 16 on the 16th!!

It’s wild how you raise three boys in the same house and somehow get three completely different humans.

Ethan’s always been my empath. The one who checks on me, loves his people HARD, and values family + genuine friendships above everything.

I envy his confidence, mostly because he’s so unbothered by things that truly don’t matter & I love that about him. I hope that never changes 🫶

But let me not glaze him too hard because the second I tell him he’s good at something, he’s over it šŸ˜‚

(fun fact for my human design peeps: he’s a reflector which is only about 1% or the population, SUPER rare & very on brand for him)

I’ve learned to appreciate each new phase of raising my boys, and this year, Im excited to watch Ethan step into being the big brother at school & home now that Josh is off to college (still getting used to this phase 😭)

…also REALLY happy to not have to wake up at 5am anymore now that he’s a new driver!

So happy 16th baby boy! I hope you always see yourself the way I see you šŸ’›

Love you, mean it! xoxo

PS Should baby throwbacks officially become my new thing for every milestone because seriously, where does the time go?!

And just like that, college drop-off is complete šŸ§”šŸ¤

Took me a few days to gather myself to post this because, wow, nothing really prepares you for this moment as a mom.

For 18 years, my whole world has been with my baby boy…

🧔 18 years of laughs, cries, late nights, vacations, road trips…

šŸ¤ 18 years of family movie nights, video games with the bros, nights out with friends…

🧔 18 years of birthday parties, sports games, holidays together…

He’s worked so hard & got into an exceptional program at the University of Tennessee, Haslam School of Business (GO VOLS!)

His goal is to find a career at the intersection of business & his passion for sports. Because life’s too short to not do what you love 🧔

š‰šØš¬š” šš¢šžšÆšžš¬ I’m so proud of the young man you’ve become & it’s only going to get better from here…

šŸ¤ So live it up to the fullest!! Make so many memories. Try new things. Fall in love. Find your crew.

🧔 Set goals so big in life you fail. Then dust your shoulders off, get back up & make even bigger ones.

šŸ¤ Come home often but be ok leaving again. Always remember, your bros will forever be the closest people in your life. And before you know it, they’ll right there next to you on campus.

🧔 Feel all the things. I know I will. Seeing you live your best life in this next journey is the best gift you could give me.

Just promise me you’ll never stop dreaming.

Love you to the moon and back, xoxo šŸŒ™

I’ve been praying all week for peace about my baby leaving for college next week…

Then today, while he was driving me around, a double rainbow appeared 🌈🌈 a symbol of God’s promise + faithfulness to us.

And as if that wasn’t enough, the birds flocked in.

In that moment I thought of Matthew 6:26, as if God was reminding me that just as he cares for the birds in the air, he will take care of my baby no matter where he is.

And I lost it 😭

I can’t wait for my son to experience this next season in his life. It’s exactly as God meant it to be.

And yet, it’s ok to not be ok, too.

It’s ok to feel. To cry. To love. And to let go.

All of it can be true all at once.

And tonight was a little God wink sent my way exactly when I needed it reminding me that He’s got this even when I don’t.

Today was filled with Costco runs, Target trips, and somehow spending way too much money on things with ā€œFull XLā€ in the name

As I was pushing that cart around, I had this overwhelming sense of gratitude.

Years ago, I made a decision to build a business around my life instead of building my life around my business.

Not because I thought entrepreneurship was the only path. But because CHOICE has always been my why.

Growing up, I thought I had one career path: climb the corporate ladder.

šŸ‘‰ My mom had me at 16 so she didn’t have many options

šŸ‘‰ Her mom had even fewer

And halfway through raising my kids, I decided I wanted them to have ENDLESS choices…

šŸ‘ They can go to college

šŸ‘ They can start a business

šŸ‘ They can work for someone else or build a completely different life than mine

I don’t care which path they choose. I just want it to be their choice.

One day they look back and fully understand the sacrifices it took to give them that freedom.

But until then…

I’m just thankful I get to push the Costco cart with my firstborn before he starts this next chapter. 🧔

After 15 years of climbing the corporate ladder, I became the first woman in my family to bet on herself and start her own business.

At the time, I thought I was just chasing a dream. Maybe showing my boys what it looks like to build something of your own.

I had no idea I was quietly expanding what felt possible for the women around me.

Now I run the marketing for my mom, who just launched her own business with her best friend šŸ‘‰ Portela Pediatrics & Friends

Watching her bet on herself, learn new things, build from the ground up has become one of my favorite parts of my own entrepreneurial journey.

Because sometimes the biggest impact of chasing your dream isn’t the business you build.

It’s the permission you give someone else to believe they can build one too.

Here’s to going first. Not for the title.

For the ripple effect 🧔

Whoever scheduled HS freshman orientation and college move-in within the same week, we need to talk 😭

Today I bawled like a baby on the way to orientation because with my oldest, I blinked and four years were gone… and now my youngest is starting his four years and I’m unwell.

So this week, if you need me, I’ll be face down in the dorm aisle at Target crying into a set of towels I already ordered on Amazon.

Hug those littles tighter tonight, mamas. Before you know it, they’re all grown up 🄹

šŸ¤” Should I make this a series?!

1. SAVE this vid and reference it the next time you edit

2. COMMENT what feature you want to learn next (or send me a dm if you’re shy)

3. FOLLOW ya girl Nicole Nieves | Marketing Strategist for Founders for the next vid in the drop

PS Not an ā€œeditingā€ expert. Just someone who’s a busy AF entrepreneur and mom renovating her brand for 55 days in public now and finding repeatable systems for executing along the way… like these lil editing hacks 😘

You’d never miss a client deliverable, right? So why are you the only thing on your calendar with a flexible deadline??

I get it though. Spent 20 years marketing other people’s brands… 500+ founders... and mine got the leftovers šŸ—

So 51 days ago I stopped waiting for a ā€œfreeā€ week, joined Jessi Jean yap challenge to hold myself accountable & here we are...

The 4 rules that kept me pressing post day after day:

1. Treat yourself like your number one client (because it’s about damn time)

2. Say the goal out loud. A quiet dream has no roots & you’ll wonder why you quit in a week.

3. Don’t wait til it’s perfect. Flex the muscle first, then build the vision.

4. Find your editing style on the way, not before you start (and lmk if you want me to share how I found mine!)

Which one are you guiltiest of?

PS Want the editing tutorial? Say the word & it’s tomorrow’s video (cuz I still haven’t started batching šŸ™ˆ)
