I used to think I was being a great client partner.
Flexible.
Helpful.
Easy to work with.
Looking back, I realized something much harder to admit…
I wasn’t teaching my clients how to respect my boundaries.
I was teaching them they didn’t exist.
Every “I’ve got it.”
Every “Don’t worry about it.”
Every “It’s only one more thing.”
Quietly became the new expectation.
That lesson changed how I run every project today.
If the work changes, the paperwork changes.
That’s not about creating friction.
It’s about protecting the work, the relationship, and your business.
If you’ve ever found yourself saying yes to work you never planned to do, you’re not alone.
