Forgive them. That’s how we heal. Jesus commands us to forgive, not because it’s easy, but because through our obedience, He sets us free. He already paid the price for your broken heart. Lay it at the foot of the cross. Forgiveness is not a feeling. It’s an act of obedience. Just be willing to choose forgiveness. I promise you that the grace and mercy Jesus poured out in His blood, on the cross, is more than enough! Surrender. In your obedience God will help you to:
Forgive the betrayal
Forgive the abandonment
Forgive the rejection
Forgive the abuse
Forgive what was stolen from you
Forgive the injustice
Forgive the hurt
Forgive them.
Forgive yourself.
Do not store the offense by withholding forgiveness. Unforgiveness leads to resentment and bitterness, which leaves a foothold for the enemy to torment you with racing thoughts, anxiety, and a spirit of heaviness. Resentment and bitterness will also will lead to hardness of heart. A hardened heart doesn’t just keep people out, but it keeps God out as well. The Lord wants you free today.
🙏🏼 Lord, even though it still hurts, and I don’t feel like forgiving, in obedience, I choose forgiveness. Lord, I can’t do it in my own strength. Your mercy and grace that You poured out in Your blood while on the cross is more than enough, Jesus. What You did on Calvary is bigger than the hurt and offense. Lord, I kneel at the foot of the cross and I choose to release it to You. I choose to leave room for Your wrath. You are a God of justice. In obedience, I choose to bless those who curse me and pray blessings on those who have despitefully used me. I choose to do good to my enemy when possible. I choose to overcome evil with good. I will guard my heart as you command.
Thank You Lord, it’s by Your stripes that I am set free. I no longer have the weight of the offense. I leave it all at the foot of the cross. Who the Son sets free is free indeed. Thank You for the gift of forgiveness. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus. Amen.
📖 Romans 12:17-21
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
📖 Matthew 6:14-15
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
📖 Luke 6:28
“Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.”
📖 Proverbs 4:23
23 Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it
