✨ Member Spotlight ✨
Nadia Moynihan, Attorney

Nadia Moynihan brings a rare combination of legal expertise, global perspective, and deep empathy to her work. Originally from Singapore and now based in the U.S. for the past six years, she is licensed to practice across multiple jurisdictions, including New York, Ireland, England, and Singapore. That breadth shapes how she sees her clients’ lives, not just legally, but holistically.

Nadia focuses on estate and legacy planning, helping individuals and families make thoughtful decisions about how their assets, responsibilities, and wishes are protected and passed on. At its core, this work is about clarity and care, ensuring that loved ones are supported and that difficult moments are met with structure instead of uncertainty. She also works with clients on pre- and postnuptial agreements, helping them create transparency and alignment from the start or navigate change with intention.

What truly sets Nadia apart is her advocacy. She represents divorcing and custodial parents navigating complex family dynamics, ensuring that their concerns, and the well-being of their children, are clearly and effectively presented before the Court. Whether addressing issues involving teenagers or very young children, her focus remains on achieving outcomes that protect stability, promote healthy parent-child relationships, and serve the children’s best interests.

Nadia approaches every case with thoughtfulness, precision, and a strong sense of responsibility. She understands that behind every document and decision are real people, real emotions, and long-term consequences. Outside of her legal practice, Nadia enjoys seeking out quirky bars and live music, often finding her way into the local music scene in Troy and Albany.

We’re proud to have Nadia as part of the Capital Area Networking community, bringing both expertise and heart to the work of protecting families and futures.

Meet Kerwin Lovell, Founder and CEO of HillTown Tech LLC and K5 Solutions LLC

Kerwin Lovell has always been driven by curiosity and problem-solving. Long before “AI” became a buzzword, he was taking things apart, figuring out how systems worked, and finding better ways to make technology useful in the real world. Today, that mindset defines everything he builds.

Through HillTown Tech LLC, Kerwin supports small businesses and individuals, including senior communities, who often struggle to find reliable, affordable IT help. HillTown Tech provides 24/7 helpdesk and cybersecurity support, meeting clients where they are and making technology dependable instead of stressful.
Behind that accessibility is K5 Solutions LLC, Kerwin’s AI-focused company.

Through K5 Solutions Kerwin develops the workflow automation and infrastructure that allows managed service providers to operate more efficiently and serve clients at scale. It’s the engine that makes HillTown’s model possible, while continuing to push AI innovation forward for other MSPs across industries.

When he’s not building technology, Kerwin is building community. Outside of time spent with his wife and three children, you’ll often find him doing what he genuinely loves, volunteering for the East Berne Fire Department as a Lieutenant or as an EMS responder with the Helderberg Ambulance Squad, sometimes quite literally solving problems under pressure.

Whether in emergency response or technology, Kerwin works from the same mindset: prepare thoroughly, act decisively, and stay calm under pressure. That approach carries directly into his client work, where reliability and clarity matter most.

🎄 CAN Holiday Mixer 2025 🎄

What an incredible night at Scarboroughs in Latham last Wednesday, celebrating the season with our members, spouses, and partners! Our 2025 Holiday Mixer was filled with laughter, great food, and the kind of warm conversations that remind us why community matters.

One of the biggest hits of the evening? Our Secret Santa gift exchange - complete with a spirited round of White Elephant, where the friendly competition (and strategic gift-stealing!) kept us all laughing. From heartfelt gifts to hilarious surprises, the energy was unforgettable.

More than anything, the night was a chance to slow down, connect on a personal level, and appreciate the friendships that have grown throughout the year. CAN isn’t just networking - it’s people showing up for each other, celebrating together, and building relationships that last.

Here’s to a new year of growth, collaboration, and even more moments like this.

Happy Holidays from all of us at Capital Area Networking!

Stephen Hartmann, President of the Capital Area Networking Group and President of the Hartmann Financial Group, LLC, had the pleasure of participating as a judge at Wednesday’s event, where students pitched innovative ideas and showcased their passion for entrepreneurship.

Congratulations to all who presented - you inspired with your creativity and drive.

A special thank you to Professor Nichol Hall for the kind invitation and continued partnership.

CAN Nation's very own Stacey Carbonare. A person you can bank on for great service!

We’re launching a fun new series called "Three Questions With." On a regular basis, we’ll sit down with a key member of our staff to learn more about their role and what makes them tick — both at work and outside of it.

Get to know the amazing people behind 1st National Bank of Scotia!

1️⃣ Most rewarding part of the role: Helping people, earning their trust, and contributing to FNB's growth. I’m new, but these aspects drive my passion for the role.

2️⃣ Dream business: I’d open a help center for women facing domestic violence/abuse and those struggling with PTSD. I’d also love to open a holistic health store.

3️⃣ If I could paint the office: Navy blue walls with white lettering and soft glow lights— it just came to mind!

CAN Member Representing at SUNY Oneonta

CAN President, Steve Hartmann attended an event at SUNY Oneonta on Monday 11/4. It was sponsored by students Bridget Doherty and Cortney Vanwormer and faculty advisors Katalina Hurwitz and Dona Siregar.

It was a great mentoring event with a lot of poignant questions from the students about careers in finance, sales, investing and accounting. Steve met with students representing several different majors. Some of the clubs in attendance were: OnMark (the student AMA chapter affiliated with NY Capital Region AMA), Finance, Management and Accounting.

CAN Nation President Steve Hartmann Contributing to Youth Entrepreneurship

I had the pleasure of sitting as a judge at the Blackstone Launchpad Ideas Competition yesterday at SUNY Albany. Thank you so much to Jenny Huang, manager for the Center for Student Entrepreneurship, for organizing the event. We listened to 12 pitches from students and alumni regarding various entrepreneurial business ideas. We wish them all success as they continue to develop their ideas.
