That quiet is kind of the point. 👀

Pest prevention has a strange PR problem: when it works well, there’s dramatically less evidence that it’s doing anything.

A cool morning does not automatically cancel yellowjacket season.

Warm fall days can keep stinging insects active, and a nest near a doorway, deck, garage or other high-traffic area deserves more respect than a can of spray and misplaced confidence.

If you know where the activity is coming from, keep your distance and call D-Bug. We have the equipment and experience to deal with it safely.

Her office superpower? 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗺 𝘂𝗽𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗲𝗿. ❤️

Her organizational system? An “unhealthy number of Post-it notes.” 😂 Honestly, whatever works.

When she’s not coordinating schedules and solving the day’s latest puzzle, Kelly enjoys writing, reading, singing, and all things true crime. 📚🎶

Fall is when prevention starts becoming especially important as temperatures shift and pests begin preparing for colder weather.

It’s a rivalry that goes way back. Luckily, D-Bug has been defending home turf since 1939. 🏆

This year's unusual weather can make pest activity feel a little... out of sequence.

Stink bugs typically begin searching for protected overwintering spots around September and October, and warm fall days can make them especially noticeable around homes.

So if you suddenly notice them gathering on sunny walls, windows or doors, you're not imagining it.

🍂 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟮.

The bugs did not wait for the calendar.

As nights get cooler, some pests start looking for food, shelter and protected places to spend the colder months.

That means September is a great time to:
✔️ Check screens
✔️ Inspect door sweeps
✔️ Look for foundation gaps
✔️ Check around utility openings
✔️ Clean up clutter around the foundation

Basically, tell pests:
“𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔.”

𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹: “It's September. Why are there STILL bugs?!”
𝗣𝗮𝘁𝘁𝘆: “Because the weather doesn't always follow the calendar.”
𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹: “So summer isn't over?”
𝗣𝗮𝘁𝘁𝘆: “Not according to the mosquitoes.”
𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹: “I knew it. We're doomed.”

This year's mix of rain, cooler stretches and sudden warm weather can make pest activity feel a little different than usual.

And that's okay.

The important thing is paying attention to what you're actually seeing around your home, rather than relying on the calendar.
