David in our studio picking up Mary's photo on canvas of their kitty amidst her scarf collection. Iphones have improved a lot but still need some help with color balance, sharpness and resolution. We then printed this image on canvas, stretched on a frame, UV coated it with lacquer, and installed in a hand-made maple float frame.

This is a 54"x30" print on canvas. It was created using an iPhone 14. We processed the image to increase the size and framed it in a maple float frame.

In 1977 having worked as everything from union laborer to a dental technician to support my artwork it finally dawned on me. I realized that my prospects of making it as a fine artist were unpredictable and for that unlikely at best. So, I decided to start my own company. Lately however, I’ve been musing about all this recalling I’ve been commissioned by more clients for more diverse projects and for more reasons than I can possibly recall. Anyway, I thought I’d post a just a few images from for all these years from what has grown into a something of a gargantuan heap – my version of the Cawker City Ball of Twine.

THE BEST PRINT POSSIBLE
Our experience fixing damaged pictures has given us a lot of practice at getting the most from any image. This might be a photo that’s under or over exposed, one that is terribly grainy, or have any number of other problems. We work to improve every image we print to get the best print possible -- regardless of the finished size you want.

This project consisted of photos that required quite a bit of attention. They were Instagram-quality photos that needed to be made into very large exhibition-quality prints. They needed the grain removed, dark areas brightened, light areas darkened, color selectively adjusted, sharpness added, and enlarged.

Here are a couple of examples from the suite of 9 from this project. We enlarged them to 36” x 24” and printed on a beautiful satin-surface paper to enhance color and detail. We created crisp, vibrant, and richly detailed large prints from small originals that lacked color and clarity.

EXHIBITION QUALITY PRINTS ON CANVAS
Prints on canvas are a perfect alternative to prints on paper. Since canvas may be coated and stretched over a standard inexpensive stretcher frame, you save time and money over traditional picture framing with a matte and glass. You also have the added benefit of not having the glare that results from glass.

We use exhibition quality and museum grade canvas along with pigment inks for maximum longevity, color and detail. We coat each canvas with a UV resistant lacquer. We provide stretched gallery-wrapped canvas prints ready to hang or we can make prints you can stretch and finish yourself.

FINE ART SERVICES
The Dole Institute of Politics wanted an exact copy of a portrait of Elizabeth Dole that hangs in the National Gallery. They planned to hang it with their canvas portrait of Bob Dole. His portrait is on canvas in a gold leaf frame. As they planned to hang them together, we needed to make Elizabeth’s portrait exactly match Bob’s portrait for size, material, surface treatment and framing.

We sized, retouched and color corrected a photograph of the original. We then made numerous test prints on canvas, coated them with various finishes and compared them to Bob’s portrait to get an exact semi-matte canvas surface. Finally, we located a complementary gold leaf frame.
