The Shaleeka C. Rogers Memorial Sweets Bowl, Honoring a Life of Service (1980–2021)
The Shaleeka C. Rogers Memorial Sweets Bowl is held each year in honor of a an unselfish individual whose life was defined by selfless service, leadership, and dedication to others.
Born in 1980, Shaleeka C. Rogers devoted her career to protecting and serving her country, her community, and those around her. She proudly served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer, earning the rank of Private First Class (E-3). Her military service reflected the values of honor, integrity, discipline, and courage.
After completing her military service, Shaleeka continued answering the call to serve as a Municipal Police Officer in her hometown of Needham, Massachusetts. She later became a Safety Coordinator for AMR Emergency Medical Services of Massachusetts, helping support the safety of emergency medical professionals dedicated to saving lives every day. She concluded her distinguished public service career as a Safety Coordinator for Amtrak, where she worked to strengthen workplace safety and protect employees across the railroad system in a position Amtrak created for her skill set.
Whether wearing the uniform of the United States Army, serving her hometown as a police officer, or helping safeguard first responders and transportation workers, Shaleeka's commitment never wavered. She lived by the principle that service to others is one of life's greatest callings!
Shaleeka passed away in 2021, but her Brother continues to honor her legacy through the annual Sweets Bowl. This event is more than a football game—it is a celebration of a remarkable life and a reminder that true champions are measured not only by their accomplishments but by the positive impact they have on others.
Each year, the MetroWest Golden Badgers proudly dedicates the Sweets Bowl to her memory, inspiring players, coaches, and fans to compete with the same courage, integrity, teamwork, and heart that Shaleeka demonstrated throughout her life.
