Happy Juneteenth. ❤️💛💚🖤

When I was in high school, I won a contest reciting part of the Gettysburg Address. To this day, I can still remember the opening words:

“Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.”

I may not remember the entire speech anymore, but that line has stayed with me.

Today is a day to celebrate freedom, reflect on our history, and recognize how far we’ve come while continuing to strive toward the ideals of equality and opportunity for all.

As someone who was adopted and raised by a family that taught me the value of kindness, respect, and community, I’m grateful for the people who invested in me and helped shape who I am today.

So today, I’m celebrating freedom, family, community, and the belief that every person’s story matters.

And if you’re spending the day with family and good food, just remember… somebody is still going to have dishes tomorrow. 😅🐝💜

Today, a client looked around her room and said:

“ you just gave my mom her life back.”

Honestly, that meant more to me than any compliment about cleaning ever could.

This client gave me permission to share her story while honoring and respecting her privacy.

What started as a bathroom remodeling project for a loved one facing chronic illness slowly became something much bigger. Years of sawdust, drywall dust, unfinished projects, forgotten memories, and life’s challenges had all accumulated into one overwhelming space.

As we worked side-by-side, she shared stories of caregiving, grief, family struggles, loss, and the seasons of life that had brought her to this moment.

And you know what?

Not once did I see a messy room.

I saw a person carrying more than most people could imagine.

That’s why judgment-free service matters.

Because sometimes keeping a clean home isn’t the priority.

Sometimes survival is.

Today wasn’t just decluttering.

It wasn’t just organization.

It was relief.

It was progress.

It was taking back control of a space that had felt overwhelming for years.

Moments like these remind me that Humble Hive isn’t just about cleaning homes.

It’s about helping people breathe again.

Sometimes people don’t need a cleaner.
