Building something meaningful is hard to do. Building it alone is harder.

Businesses are built through relationships. Leadership is strengthened through relationships. Relationships remind you that you’re not the only person trying to build something meaningful while navigating uncertainty.

Being in the right room and asking the right questions can help people move beyond surface-level intros to meaningful connection, clarity, and new possibilities.

Still reflecting on an incredible experience attending the Social Innovation Summit in Atlanta as a guest of Eric Glustrom and the Watson Institute.

There is something deeply energizing about being in spaces with people committed to building a more just, innovative, and community-centered future. I especially appreciated reconnecting with fellow Truist Foundation Fellowship leaders and Watson alumni - people doing meaningful work in communities across the country.

One of the highlights was participating in nourishing conversations with leadership from the Truist Foundation and community impact leaders at Google about what it takes to create lasting, meaningful change.

I also enjoyed running into the amazing team at Plywood People and reconnecting with old friends and familiar faces. Those unexpected reunions always remind me how interconnected this work really is.

Most of all, I’m grateful for the new relationships formed and conversations started with people I’m looking forward to staying connected with.

Spaces like this remind me that social impact work is not just about ideas or strategy - it’s also about community, courage, and finding people committed to telling the truth about what meaningful change requires.
