TCB Composite recently donated some spinners and bulkheads to the American Yankee Association 2018 Convention which were silently auctioned off for several hundred dollars in scholarships.

Congratulations to the Spirit of St. Louis II Program for completing the build stage! She looks awesome. The aircraft uses our custom designed Spinner and Bulkhead to match the original aircraft spinner profile. But of course, it will be much stronger and lighter than their aluminium counterparts!

Greg, from PA, tracked us down at the EAA - The Spirit of Aviation 2018 to let us know how happy he is with his TCB composite spinner on Cessna 177B Fixed Gear -- . The first two photos show our composite spinner on his aircraft. The last three photos show the original aluminum spinner suffering from crack failures, a typical failure mode for aluminium spinners. One customer reported to us this week that our composite spinner has been installed and operated on his C177 for nearly 20 years and going!

Unlike aluminium, well-designed and expertly-manufactured TCB Composite spinners and bulkhead will not crack under fatigue stress. And unlike aluminum spinners which can crack and dent (you can see both on the photos), composite spinners are much stiffer and will not dent or crack!

Lighter than aluminium | Stronger than steel!

A good deserves a good , right? So tt's time to tell you about our third LiveAirShowTV Pre Flight Show host. Joining Dave Keim and Rob Reider will be veteran air show announcer, Larry Strain!

During an air show career that has now spanned three full decades, Larry has not just earned the admiration of his peers and customers, he has done whatever was necessary to support our industry and improve professionalism within it.

Larry brought to the industry much-needed business insight and a professional demeanor that has helped to create an atmosphere of competence and steadiness whenever he is present at an air show or other industry event.

As a planner and organizer, Larry has proven that he is a natural leader who inspires trust and commitment among the people with whom he works.

Whether he is working at a large, established show on a very specific task or helping a fledgling event struggling to overcome the many obstacles it faces to establish itself, Larry applies his business and air show experience to those challenges.

But, aside from his involvement with individual air shows, he has also worked tirelessly to improve the industry. He has served as a coach for Golden Knight and U.S. Air Force Heritage Flight narrators. He was a long-time member of the faculty for the ICAS Air Shows 101 training seminar. While serving on the ICAS Board of Directors, he took on the responsibility of rewriting the ICAS Principles of Conduct and Professional Ethics. And, for several years, he served as a member of the Warbirds of America Board of Directors.
