Business Briefs.
Marquard Dispute Resolution started business in the Fall of 2019. Since that startup date, I’ve had the chance to serve as an arbitrator or mediator in cases involving business purchases, utility work, home construction and major construction projects. Two of these cases involved disputes caused by major river flooding in the last 3 years. As climate change continues, expect more projects to be delayed or experience increased costs due to flooding, storms or other unexpected weather conditions. When these develop, early mediation or arbitration of developing disputes can help keep the project moving. My services include dispute resolution and consulting on these projects.
The consulting side of the business has also grown. I’ve had the opportunity to provide advice on projects and business opportunities for established design firms and help a new engineering firm get started. A very interesting assignment involved creating a set of design-build documents and risk management tools for a large utility contractor. I’m also providing consulting services to companies looking at establishing server farms for data mining operations. This work involves utility price analysis and help locating these sites. I’m also involved in a new startup business focused on supplying water to disaster areas.
My previous employment involve considerable international work and last year Marquard Dispute Resolution received its first international assignment. I was retained by a contractor working on a major public project in Haiti to resolve a dispute with a U.S. equipment manufacturer. Through months of negotiation I was able to keep the parties working together and in the end negotiated a resolution which enabled the contractor to keep the job going on schedule and budget.
THANK YOU TO ALL MY CLIENTS AND LITIGANTS WHO USED MY SERIVCES OVER THESE LAST 3 YEARS. I LOOK FORWARD TO CONTINUE TO SERVE YOUR NEEDS.
