📱 Upgrading to a new phone?

Trade-ins are a great way to save, but here are a few steps to make sure your old phone is ready for its new life:
1. Back it up: Save important data to the cloud.
2. Transfer with care: If transferring data in-store, observe the process and ensure your old phone is factory reset in front of you.
3. Grab your SIM & SD card: If your phone has an SD card, don’t forget to remove it along with your SIM before trading in.

This one’s particularly slimy! 🐸 TOAD attacks use phishing emails that don’t include any links or attachments. Instead, they simply ask you to call a number to "resolve an issue" perhaps with your bank or another trusted source. But here’s the catch: that number doesn’t connect you to your bank; it connects you to a villain posing as the trusted source
Because you’re the one making the call, it feels safe. But that false sense of control can lead you to freely share sensitive information. After all, you called them, right? They must be legit if they’re there to “help”… right?

Be cautious! Even if you’re making the call, always double-check the phone number from an official source before giving any personal information. Don’t let a TOAD lure you in! 🐸

Cyberattacks come in lots of different forms. Phishing is pretty common, its where someone uses email to try and obtain sensitive information from you. They might do this by trying to make their email look like it came from a trusted source such as your bank, or a place you shop, they also might try to have you click a link that leads you to a seemingly innocent or even useful website that is really not that website at all. Its all bait to try and get you. Hence the name Phishing.

Phishing 🎣is so common that our attackers have gotten clever and have quite a few methods up their sleeves a few types to look out for.

🐠Smishing - Like phishing but uses text messages (SMS) to trick you.
🪼Quishing - Uses a QR code to trick you
🐠Vishing - Where they use phone calls to trick you.
🔱Spear Phishing - A targeted form of Phishing to trick a specific person at an organization
🐳Whaling - A type of spear Phishing that targets a company leader or the "big fish" like a CEO

What can you do? Take a moment to analyze the information you get, were you expecting it? Does it make sense? It can be really tricky to identify them all which is why I use email security. Let me know if you need help leveling up your protection
