Leadwood Fire Protection District

Last night, members of the Desloge Fire Department joined Leadwood Fire Protection District for our weekly training night!

Crews worked on pump operations, hose movement, and advancing hose lines down hallways, building skills that are critical to operating safely and effectively on emergency scenes.

We always appreciate the opportunity to train alongside our neighboring agencies! Teaming together strengthens our working relationships, builds confidence, and helps ensure we’re ready to work side by side when our communities need us most. 🤝🏼 🔥🚒

🚨 Tonight at approximately 1835 hours, Potosi Fire Protection District was dispatched to Harbison Lumber for a reported brush fire.

Upon arrival, crews located approximately two acres of burning brush, along with a massive pile of timber actively burning.

Due to the size of the timber pile, it is expected to continue burning throughout the night and potentially for several days.

Our crews are still monitoring the incident.

Thank you to all Mutual Aid Companies who assisted us tonight. Thank you to Leadwood Fire Protection District for refreshments.

The fire service is more than responding to calls. It’s about standing together, supporting one another, and making sure our communities remain protected even when our own are facing challenges. We’re so thankful everyone involved is home and recovering. We continue to keep them in our thoughts and prayers. ❤️

On September 11, 2001, first responders ran toward immense danger. Firefighters, law enforcements officers, EMS personnel, and ordinary citizens made unimaginable sacrifices in an effort to save others. Many gave their lives in service to people they had never even met.

Their sacrifice is a powerful reminder of what it truly means to serve.

On September 12th and the days that followed, America came together. Differences were set aside. Neighbors helped neighbors. Communities stood together. People supported one another and remembered we are stronger when we stand united.

Today, let us remember that spirit. Let us remember the sacrifices made by those who serve our communities every day. Let us support our firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, military members, dispatchers, and all those who willingly answer the call to help others.

And let us remember the unity, compassion, and love for one another that brought this country together following one of the darkest days in our history.

May we never forget the sacrifices.

May we never forget the heroes.

And may we never forget how powerful we can be when we come together. 🇺🇸🚒

As the new school year kicks off, Leadwood Fire Protection District wants to remind everyone in our community to STOP for school buses and stay extra vigilant during the morning and afternoon hours. 🚌🚨

With increased traffic and more students on the roads, please slow down, stay alert, and help keep our kids safe!

We hope you had a wonderful first day back to school! Have a safe and successful school year, Bulldogs! 🐾
