Krieger & Tillinger is looking for an experienced (at least 5 years) family law legal assistant for our family division. Office is in the Clear Lake area, and we practice primarily in Galveston County, Texas.

We have a very heavy caseload to manage, currently with around 150-180 cases, with the alphabet split between two teams consisting of one paralegal and one legal assistant each. There will be minimal drafting involved – attorney drafts 85% of pleadings and orders. However, the rest is A LOT, including discovery. Accuracy and efficiency are of utmost importance. Scheduling, calendaring, prepping files for hearings/trials/mediations, and more.

We use WordPerfect, FormBuilder (similar to ProDoc), Outlook, and Excel.

I am demanding and picky, and not always “nice”. This job is not for the faint of heart (fn1), and if you oversell yourself, we will not get along well. But I do have a great team right now, so there is a bit of a safe space. Salary is competitive, depending on experience.
