As we head into a stretch of warmer weather, Chelan County Fire District #3 would like to remind everyone that outdoor burning season officially ended on June 1.

With drier conditions arriving across our area, following burn restrictions is one of the most important ways we can help prevent wildfires and keep our communities safe. Please visit our website for a complete list of current burning restrictions, permit information, and links to additional local burn ban resources.

Thank you for doing your part to reduce fire risk and help protect our homes, forests, and neighbors this summer. Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine!

Come on down to Alpine Lakes Elementary for the annual Cascade Medical Health and Safety Fair! We’ll be having an extrication demonstration later, and have our Engine set up for the kids to tour!

Airlift Northwest is here with a Helicopter, along with Cascade Ambulance and CCSO Marine Deputies with their jet skis. Whistlepunk Ice cream is here as well!

CCFD #3 is proud to announce the completion of our newest apparatus. With this new apparatus going into service, the previous Rescue (a KME type 3 brush truck) remains in service as our first out wildland apparatus.

Rescue 31 was placed in service around a week ago. A collaborative effort between our district mechanic, Capt. Marcus Wells, along with Career and Volunteer member labor helped bring the project together.

A custom-built apparatus can cost upwards of $250,000. With the use of in-house expertise and fabrication, we were able to build this apparatus for around half that cost. In addition to saving money, the attention to detail and Capt. Wells' extensive automotive experience ensures us a quality build.

See some in-progress photos below, along with the finished build. We are particularly proud of the custom fitted extrication tool mounts, fabricated and welded by Firefighter Simon Keyser (with help from his fabricators, Lt. Parrish and Capt. Tibbetts).

As we move closer to June, wildfire forecasts are predicting above average fire potential across our region. With warmer temperatures, drying fuels, and changing weather conditions, now is the time to stay aware and prepared.

Chelan County Fire District #3 encourages all residents and visitors to use caution with outdoor activities, follow local burn restrictions, and have a plan in place in case of wildfire.

Small actions can make a big difference in preventing wildfires and protecting our communities. Stay safe, stay informed, and help us keep Chelan County safe this season.
