When we say things got weird during our final session at the Thomas building, we mean they got weird.

Knocks, potential EVPs, and some of the most direct communication from an session we had ever experienced. Can’t get better than that, right? Wrong.

As we were preparing to leave, something truly happened, leaving us all questioning what we had experienced in this amazing building. Check it out at the link in the comments below!

At the northeast corner of Fifth and Cherokee stood the Sickel & Trollman Dry Goods Store, opened in 1897 by Edwin M. Sickel and August Trollman. Sickel, who was born and raised in Delaware Township, partnered with Trollman, a Weston transplant, to create a store that quickly became a community favorite. They stocked clothing, dry goods, gents' furnishings, furniture and shoes, promising in the Leavenworth Times that theirs was the "store of continuous bargains."

Photo was scanned from the booklet, Leavenworth, Kansas 1909. Information on Sickel & Trollman was gathered from the Leavenworth Times and the Leavenworth City Directories.
