Ever wondered why it feels cooler in the shade of a tree than in the shadow of a building?

Buildings are made of hard surfaces that can absorb heat and radiate it back, so even if it’s blocking the sun, you may still be feeling the heat.

Trees on the other hand don’t just shade, they actually help cool the air around them. This happens through a process called evapotranspiration. Trees release water v***r into the air, which then uses heat to ev***rate. It cools the air in a similar way to how sweat cools your skin.
