My fave coffee chat this week was with my AGame clients and coaches at SMU! I love this university and Dallas. Athletics are different here because they truly utilize neuroscience and faith…it’s game changing and always our AGame focus!

Coffee Chat Summary:
The Bible has been encouraging us to give thanks long before neuroscience explained why it matters. Scripture instructs us to “give thanks in all circumstances,” not because life is always easy, but because gratitude shifts our focus from our problems to God’s faithfulness.
Research now shows that gratitude can reduce stress, promote better sleep, enhance emotional well-being, and even benefit physical health.
When we intentionally remember God’s goodness, our minds and bodies respond positively.
This does not mean we deny pain, grief, or hardship. The Psalms are full of honest laments. But again and again, David returns to remembrance, worship, and thanksgiving.
Maybe the God who created the brain knew exactly what He was doing when He instructed us to give thanks. The Bible isn’t just a spiritual book; it’s God’s instruction manual for living — guiding our souls, minds, emotions, and nervous systems. “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
